Unbreakable (or hard to break) pool cue stick?
Part of my job is to maintain the pool table and cue sticks of the dorm that I live in. Maintaining the cue sticks is a pain though, because either the tips (of non-screw-tip cues) are constantly ripped off, or the cues are broken in half (a weak point in the metal of another type of cue we've tried).

Does anyone know of any sturdy, hardy pool sticks that would best be able to endure being used in a dorm, with people who don't necessarily know how to play pool or are abusive to the cues?

1 piece house cues are the way to go. Also, a tip. Do not leave the cues out for anyone to use. Make those who want to use the house cues come up and leave their ID to check 1 or 2 out, and inform them they will be responcible for any user caused damage to the cues. No more problems.
There are many "house cues" available that are made out of other materials than wood. Contact you're nearest billiard supply store and ask for inexpensive non-wooden house cues. Realistically, there is no way to prevent damage to anything left around drinking college students. If you buy something that has an "unbreakable" sticker on it, someone will try to break it.
