When playing pool at a bar where you pay quarters for each game when you scratch the cue ball is always returned but the numbered balls are put in the case. what is the difference between the balls so the table knowns which to place where?

Hey everyone. I got pool table about a year ago just to play around on, it's not a big fancy one or anything. Anyways the pool cues I got with them, there was two. Anything at canadian tire isn't worth having. I would say go to a local billiards supply store and test a few out. Find something that ... See More
Do you recall a vintage toy pool table that didn't use cue sticks? It used a "pull back" shooter
I played with a toy pool table like this in the 70's. I have been searching on ebay without any luck. Does anyone recall who made this "no cue stick" pool table? The pull-back shooter would just swivel around and you would place the Cue ball in the shooter and then choose the strength of your shot and press the button and the cue ball would be expelled. Thanks
I know EXACTLY what you are looking for... It was called "Pivot Pool" and it was made by Milton ... See More
Is there an alternative way to mount a pool cue rack without the use of screws?
Got a pool table today and came with the 2 piece cue rack. There were no screws that came with it and the racks have no holes for the screws. What are some alternative ways to mount the rack to the wall which is guaranteed to hold 5 cues? I'm no handyman either so I don't want to screw things up
Was the cue rack in 2 pieces? There isn't a rack made specifically for 2-piece cues, that I know of. If the rack itself is a wall-mounted ... See More
Unbreakable (or hard to break) pool cue stick?
Part of my job is to maintain the pool table and cue sticks of the dorm that I live in. Maintaining the cue sticks is a pain though, because either the tips (of non-screw-tip cues) are constantly ripped off, or the cues are broken in half (a weak point in the metal of another type of cue we've tried). Does anyone know of any sturdy, hardy pool sticks that would best be able to endure being used in a dorm, with people who don't necessarily know how to play pool or are abusive to the cues?
1 piece house cues are the way to go. Also, a tip. Do not leave the cues out for anyone to use. Make those who want to use the house ... See More
There are many "house cues" available that are made out of other materials than wood. Contact you're nearest billiard supply store and ask ... See More
Out of these two pool tables which do you think would be a better buy?
So i've been looking to purchase a pool table for the past month and decided that i would buy new and affordable table and i've narrowed it down to these two tables: http://www.sears.ca/product/sportcraft-kingsford-billard-table-with-cue-rack/06739120?ptag=1 http://www.walmart.com/ip/Minnesota-Fats-7.5-Billiard-Table-Black-with-Mahogany-Rail-and-Blue-Cloth/9203290?findingMethod=rr#Item+Description The one from sears comes with a cue and ball rack that mounts on the wall as well as the all the basic accessories (Balls, cues, triangle etc) and the walmart one comes with all the basic accessories. So out of these two pool tables, which do you think would be better for a basement. They are both 7.5' tables.
The second one, it is slate bed which is good quality compared to wooden. wood tends to warp very easily. See More
Actually, neither has a real slate bed. The second has a bed with a slate CORE, meaning it has a thin layer of slate covered in wood. It's ... See More
